The MCAD Drafter performs detail design, drafting, and build/test support tasks for the development and delivery of complex simulation and training devices. Working primarily in Solidworks with occasional AutoCAD work, you will collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Project Engineering, and Mechanical Engineers to develop production-ready drawing packages and electro-mechanical assemblies that meet Government/Industry standards and customer specifications.
What you'll do
- Produce and release CAD models and drawings of electro-mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and parts in accordance with Government/Industry standards.
- Design structures, weldments, machined parts, sheet metal parts, printed parts, and modifications that are manufacturable, ergonomic, reliable, and maintainable.
- Provide build support to manufacturing by resolving design and documentation issues during production phases.
- Document design changes by creating engineering change documents.
- Support Mechanical Engineering with development of presentation materials for customer meetings, requirement reviews, design reviews, and acceptance testing.
- Prepare for and participate in customer events such as configuration audits.
What you bring
- Proficiency in Solidworks for 3D parametric modeling and part/assembly design.
- Experience with AutoCAD for 2D drafting and baseline design updates.
- Knowledge of Government/Industry standards for mechanical design and documentation.
- Ability to interpret and apply customer specifications to design deliverables.
- Experience creating production drawing packages and engineering change documents.
- Strong collaborative skills working with cross-functional engineering teams.
