The Avionic Systems Engineer will design, develop, and test avionics and aircraft systems for simulation environments, including communications, navigation, defensive, offensive, and auxiliary subsystems. Working in aerospace engineering, you will apply engineering principles to research, analyze, design, and implement aircraft electrical, computer, and data network systems. You will participate in simulation code development, systems integration, configuration management, and quality assurance testing while collaborating with internal engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and Government representatives.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, code, and test avionics and aircraft systems (communications, navigation, defensive, offensive, electrical, hydraulics, and related subsystems) for simulation environments.
- Perform systems integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and resource management across assigned projects.
- Review and prepare engineering and technical analysis, reports, design reviews, change proposals, and technical documentation.
- Read, write, and maintain simulation code on Linux and Windows systems using C, C++, or C#.
- Interface with other engineers, system and program contractors, vendors, and Government representatives on technical aspects of engineering programs.
- Participate in problem resolution, engineering procedure development, and project effort management as a member of the engineering team.
- Communicate ongoing activities and results to engineers, customers, stakeholders, and management.
What you bring
- Proficiency in C, C++, or C# programming.
- Experience developing code on both Linux and Windows systems.
- Knowledge of avionics systems, aircraft systems, or simulation engineering.
- Familiarity with configuration management and quality assurance testing processes.
- Ability to read, write, and maintain software documentation and technical specifications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
