Mechanical Engineer

- Work closely with Systems and Electrical Engineering to gather comprehensive requirements for new training system design and development per Government and Industry standards - Review, evaluate, and research contractual specifications to design solutions meeting functional and performance requirements - Produce mechanical designs and details that prioritize manufacturability, ergonomics, reliability, and maintainability - Create new parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings in SolidWorks; modify existing designs in AutoCAD or other CAD programs as needed - Mentor mechanical engineers and drafters at multiple experience levels to develop cohesive mechanical designs - Create and present mechanical designs to support customer meetings including requirement reviews, design reviews, and configuration audits - Support manufacturing by resolving design and documentation issues during production and documenting changes via engineering change documents - Communicate with the mechanical CAD team to generate detail, assembly, installation, and modification drawings - Assist with proposal preparation and cost estimation for new contracts - Oversee assembly activities and ensure design integrity throughout production
